Developed in Lagos, Nigeria, RIA was orignally produced as an indoor/outdoor chair handmade with the help of talented Nigerian artisans and craftsmen. A focus was placed on using simple geometric shapes to construct it’s steel frame making it easily repeatable. The original chair was woven with rattan, creating a chair influenced by the designers Nigerian heritage and locally available materials.
This same process was repeated and perfected upon the designers move to Brooklyn, New York. Influenced by the industrial architecture of the city and its fashion forward residents, The RIA II was born.With its brushed aluminum frame and pebbled leather, The RIA II incorporates a contemporary and luxurious twist on the original concept – resulting in a stunning chair that is as comfortable as it is visually impressive.
